I just saw the film Amelia and noticed the actress Hilary Swank is left handed. There are a lot of scenes in the film which focus on her "handednesss". I was just curious as to whether anyone out there may know if she was left handed? If the director chose to focus in on thelefthanded actresses hand during an autograph signing, he better be sure the person the actress is portaying is also left handed. A seemingly insignificant detail, but now I'm curious. If Amelia Earhart was right handed than shame on that director for thinking we wouldn't notice those details, or worse, to not notice them himself!

My Mother, Florence Massouras Dumas, who "just" passed away, was a contemporary of Amelia's, and the very first woman to graduate from the Washington State Normal School's (now CWU') Flight Training Program. I have pictures of her, in a monkey suit in front of a biplane, and compression starting a wooden prop plane, all with great smiles of course, capturing her wholesomeness and sense of adventure.
