As a still-at-school teenager I met Doris when I was moonlighting at a theatre in London, England, maybe in '61-'62? She was actually much nicer in person than in the films. That she survived Hollywood is amazing. Shame she was crap at choosing men (I was available Doris!!!! I LOVED women old enough to be my mother!!!! We had so much in common - we both were covered in freckles!!!! I would have thought about marriage if you had asked!!!!)
